At Winning Smiles Dental Clinic, our story began over two decades ago with a simple goal: to make quality dental care accessible and fear-free. From a small clinic to a center renowned for advanced treatments, we’ve grown with every smile. 2001

The smell of developer and stains of fixer. Records on paper and photos on camera rolls, where if we shot a pic which is out of focus, we would know only after the developed print arrived developed.

2004

Marked the beginning of digitisation- when we brought the first desktop to keep a record of our patients.

2006

In a short while the clinic did well, and we could pay back all the loans. By the end of 2006 Dr Shilpa went on a four year sabbatical that started as a maternity leave.

2010

Dr Shilpa rejoined, initially part time and gradually increasing the hours.

2011

Major renovations with a functional second operatory. The highlight was investing in digital real time x-ray machine, that ensured the time lapsed for diagnosis was eliminated.

2012

Dr Shilpa pursued a Certification in Cosmetic Dentistry from the prestigious New York University. The time spent there, marked a paradigm shift in her approach as she got exposed to dentistry at a global level. It fuelled her need to upgrade the dentistry in her clinic to a global standard.

It also introduced the practice to Practo and cloud computing, we were the early adopters.

2013

HIV was still around and the new therapies suppressed symptoms and hence, the fear of inadvertent contamination let us to invest in a class B autoclaving system, which is still the Global standard. We were way ahead of the time, it took the covid pandemic in 2019 for it to be made mandatory.

2014

It was incidently, the time when three senior dentists were diagnosed with cancer. As dental professionals, we are constantly working in an irradiated field, shooting up to 20 to 30 X-rays in a single day. We hence upgraded are conventional xray system to highly sophisticated European system, which had way higher safety compliance. It reduced the exposure time by 1/10th. It avoided all the harmful scatter radiation, thereby ensuring a way higher safety environment, for our patient and staff alike.

2015

Though Dr Mittal’s speciality was Cosmetic Dentistry, we realise that our referrals came from our painless root canal procedures. We were offering Rotary endodontics right from the outset, we further adopted advanced methods to refine our technique and reduce the number of appointments and x-ray’s required for root canals.

2016

Marked her foray into Implant Dentistry, where Dr Mittal did a comprehensive Fellowship in Oral Implantology from MUHS. This resulted in investing further into infrastructure like Physio dispensers, Implant systems and Implant inventory.

2018

Marked investing in a high-end dental chair with 6 points for various machines from pneumatic drills, electric drills, ultrasonic and two photoelectric ports. This brought down the in-chair time of the patient and allowed us to do a lot more treatment in a single appointment.

2020

Saw the Covid pandemic, things came to a grinding hault. We were one of the first practices which invested in the Hepa filters. Our practice was shut only from 7th March 2020 to 7th of June 2020. Most of the compliances were thankfully in place being the early adopters of Hepa filters. We not only ensured that our operatory, but also the waiting area had the unit for the benefit of our patients and staff. The inter appointment fogging machines were also top of the line. By the end of the pandemic, we realised that all the fogging had adversely affected our delicate machinery and gadgets, and hence we were compelled to ploughback a good amount to restore our infrastructure to the optimum.

2022
