It is a fixed option in case one or all teeth are removed.

What is it?

An implant is a screw that is placed inside the jaw bone in place of a missing root. An artificial tooth is then attached to it.

Who needs it?

Implants are indicated as follows:

  • Replacement of the tooth(s)
  • When dentures are loose and require additional support
  • In orthodontics, to attach elastics to move the teeth

It can be a single implant supporting a single tooth or two implants supporting three teeth like a bridge. Full mouth cases can have 4-6 or more implants at crucial locations that support all the 12 teeth of the arch.

Implants can be placed in two ways:

Immediate Placement

When a tooth is removed and an implant is placed at that time itself. If the available bone is adequate and there is no infection, one can place it right away.

Delayed Placement

When the place from where the tooth and infection have been removed has healed well and the “socket” has healed well.

I am so glad that I put myself in the safe and sure hands of Dr.Shilpa Mittal and her team at Winning Smiles. Right from the cleanliness of the entire clinic, the friendly nature of her team, the state-of-the-art equipment that is required for her job, and the expertise and skills that Dr. Shilpa herself brings to the table. Everything is top-notch. Dr. Shilpa has such wonderful partnerships with specialists in various niche fields of dentistry, which she does not hesitate to call upon and consult with or get them to do their part of the specialist job, that it makes the whole process better. One such partnership that she drew upon in my case is with Dr.Sujit Bopardikar, the founder of DentArt Clinic near SNDT College at Juhu. Dr.Sujit is a senior prosthodontist and has worked extensively in the field of oral implantology. Dr.Shilpa was not shy about taking a second opinion from Dr.Sujit on the line of treatment in my case.

ADVANCED IMPLANTOLOGY

Bone manipulation and grafting

When the available bone is inadequate, we have to either expand it or graft it with artificial bone. In such cases, we need better expertise and a far more sophisticated infrastructure.

We have hence tied up with a higher referral center in Juhu by the name of Dentart, run by Dr. Sujit Bopardikar. He has been associated with our practice since 2009, when we placed our first implant. We thus have firsthand experience of a 10-year recall of his fabulous work.

The pandemic has compelled us to rethink our plowing back and reinvest in the practice. This, however, should not mean that our patients should be bereft of the best available treatment options. With this sole intent and a lot of research, we zeroed in on DentArt. Just the main surgical process is carried out there, and everything else, from follow-ups to consultations, is done at Winning Smiles itself.

This association has allowed us to broaden and improve our treatments, offerings, and comprehensive care.

Testimonial from Google

I've been visiting the Winning Smiles Dental Clinic for quite some time for my regular dental issues primarily with cavities and root canals and they've been doing a fantabulous job. Now I had a need to do implants and it demands a lot of trust & faith as the process seemed to be including a surgery. I kept the faith in Dr. Shilpa Mittal and what I've been perceiving as a surgery turned out to be a painless treatment. The work has been flawless with 3 implants done (pic attached), no pain whatsoever, and all done in a period of 2 hours. Post the treatment I hardly took 1 painkiller which was not even required. Great job done, now after a week the stitches are out and everything looks perfect. Amazing job and I'm more than happy!!! For people like me who need to keep the faith in their dentist, this is theplace to be. With no complications and a flawless execution you're bound to be in control.
